The NJLT Box Lacrosse program returns for the 2025–2026 winter season at The Rink in Jackson, NJ! This year features a new format — 90-minute sessions combining high-level box training with live gameplay. Players will build speed, sharpen decision-making, improve stick skills, and gain confidence in tight spaces.

What Makes NJLT Box Lacrosse Different
Train + Play Format
Each 90-minute session combines box-specific drills with live, full-speed gameplay. Players develop quick reactions, precision passing, and tighter control in game-like settings.
Box Lacrosse At Its Core
All sessions take place outdoors at The Rink at Jackson, providing the authentic box environment without walls or turf limitations. Fast, physical, and fun.
Early Emphasis on Learning Box
The first few sessions focus more on box training concepts — spacing, movement off-ball, picks, 2 man game, and transitions — while maintaining 40+ minutes of game time.
Box Equipment
Field equipment and Box Rib guards are mandatory for all players to play. Bicep pads & box helmets are optional. Players have the option to purchase box jerseys, but all players must bring a reversible pinny with a number on it OR light/dark box jerseys.

90-Minute Sessions
Each session combines high-intensity training with live box lacrosse gameplay.
High-Rep Curriculum
The first part of each session focuses on drills, fundamentals, and box-specific skills; the second is live game play. As the season progresses and players have the box concepts down, the sessions will shift to 30 minutes of training and 60 minutes of play.
Early-Season Focus
The opening sessions emphasize learning the box game: rules, positioning, wall play, and offensive/defensive spacing.
Steady Progression
As players grow more comfortable, sessions transition into faster-paced, game-driven training with advanced box concepts.
Skill Growth
Expect to improve quick decision-making, stick control in tight spaces, off-ball movement, and reaction time.

All players attending box lacrosse should come prepared with the proper gear to participate safely and get the most out of training. Please make sure your lacrosse player wears athletic clothes appropriate for outdoor training for the season and brings:

Who is Box Lacrosse for?

What registration options are available?
Full Season, Half Season & Drop in Options Available. The Free Play Day lets new players try a session at no charge before committing. The Full Season ($200) includes all 13 sessions. The Half Season ($125) lets you pick 6 session dates and save $9 per session. The Drop In rate ($30 per session) lets you pay as you go.
Can goalies play for free?
Yes — Goalies Play Free! This is limited to two goalies per age group. NJLT provides box goalie equipment for players interested in playing goalie. To register as a goalie, email NJLT directly.
What equipment do I need, and what is mandatory?
