Every element of Little Laxxers is designed around one goal: getting young players to fall in love with lacrosse — and want to come back every summer.
Fun-First Instruction
Games, challenges, and activities keep kids engaged while they learn real skills — they won't even realize they're in training.
Watch the Big Kids Play
Little Laxxers get to watch older Summer Camp players in full games with sideline coaching — sparking serious inspiration.
Age-Right Coaching
Our coaches specialize in working with young kids — patient, encouraging, and experienced in early athletic development.
Outdoor Morning Sessions
Two hours of fresh air, movement, and sunshine at Bucks Mills Park — the best way to start a summer morning.
New Friends & Teammates
Little Laxxers meet other kids their age and build friendships that often continue through years of lacrosse ahead.
Zero Pressure Environment
No helmet, no pads, no prior experience required. Just a stick, some space, and a whole lot of encouragement.

Skills & Development
What Young Players
Learn
The Jump Start curriculum builds a complete foundation for lifelong lacrosse — every skill is age-appropriate and introduced through play.
Stick Handling Fundamentals
How to hold, cradle, and move with a lacrosse stick — the core of everything that follows in the sport.
Catching & Throwing
Partner and group passing drills that build hand-eye coordination and comfort with the stick.
Running with the Ball
Cradling while moving — the fundamental skill that opens up the whole game for young players.
First Shooting Reps
Age-appropriate shooting practice — finding the cage and experiencing that first goal. Pure joy.
Teamwork & Sportsmanship
Learning to play with and for teammates — one of the most valuable things sports teaches young children.
How the Game Works
Sideline viewing of older campers' games, with coaches explaining positions, rules, and strategy in kid-friendly language.

Have Questions?
Camp FAQs
What age is Little Laxxers for?
Boys and girls in Kindergarten through 3rd grade (2025–2026 school year). Players in 2nd or 3rd grade who already have lacrosse experience may be better suited for the full Summer Camp program for grades 2–12.
Does my child need any equipment?
No. Monmouth Lacrosse provides sticks for all Little Laxxers. Athletic clothes, sneakers, a water bottle, and sunscreen are all they need. If they already own a stick, they're welcome to bring it.
Can I register for both sessions?
Girls field equipment: stick, goggles, mouthguard, cleats or sneakers, and a water bottle. No extra gear is needed — just what she uses in a regular practice.
What if my child has never played lacrosse before?
That's exactly who this camp is designed for. Little Laxxers assumes zero prior experience and starts from the very beginning — how to hold a stick, how to catch, and how the game works. It's a judgment-free, fun-first introduction.
What happens after Little Laxxers — where do they go next?
Players who complete the Jump Start program are well prepared to join the full Monmouth Lacrosse Summer Camp (grades 2–12), the year-round Boys or Girls Lax Academy, or seasonal leagues. Our coaches can make personalized recommendations based on your child's development.
